Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
1 Peter 5:6-7
Everyday, we face trouble. We tend to think, “God should help me, I read my Bible and went to church this week.” We have the misconception that if we go to church, or read our Bible, that only then God will find favor in us. This is wrong on so many levels, and it’s something that should be confronted.
Church or reading your Bible doesn’t qualify you to be worthy for God, it was the cross that made you worthy. It’s not about your good deeds, or your works, it’s about that cross and what Jesus did. Your past is irrelevant, because God has casted that as far as the east is from the west. He’s not looking at your good works, because they don’t match up to what He wants. The only thing God needs you to do is to trust in Him, cast all your cares upon Him. To humble yourself in the name of Jesus, and to allow His mercy to flow over you. Allow your heart to be changed by His love, let Him use the situations around you for the good. God has never and will never fail you, just cast all the cares upon Him.
