And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming. If you know that He is righteous, you may be sure that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of Him. See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when He appears we shall be like him, because we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who thus hopes in Him purifies himself as He is pure.
1 John 2:28-3:3
2015, for us, had been a ruff year. After so much had happened, things almost torn us apart. Our relationship went to a dark place, plus our relationship with others wasn’t too healthy either. The things that happened in 2015, we as a couple and a team strayed away from Christ.
As a team, we forgot we that we were Children Of the living God.
We made a mistake to put ourselves before Christ, and trying to still be together as a couple. That, however, ultimately failed. When you walk that road as a Christian, you get comfortable but things start to get worse. We are like Peter on the water, we sink right when the miracle happens. God sees what your soul wants and needs and tries to give it to us, but satan sees what our flesh wants and gives it to us. We have a choice, either take what your flesh wants or take what you’re soul wants. The Bible practically tells us that we reap what we sow. If we plant our seeds in faith and on good soil, then our fruits will be health good to eat. If you plant them on bad soil and no faith, then those fruits will be dead.
It’s our faith that gets us through, our faith in Jesus Christ Himself. We know that our strength doesn’t come from us if we have faith, so we lean on Him to help us. Not all the time is it the way we like it, it rarely is. It is how God wants it, the better way possible. He knows you aren’t strong enough, that’s one of many reasons why He sent His Son to hang on a cross for us, to give us strength.
Christ is the reason why we are able to live, He is our strength. Without Christ, we aren’t strong enough to carry our baggage and sins. But with Christ, we are able to lay it at the cross and relay on Him. Our faith is so important, that people tend to lose it after becoming a Child of God for couple of years. We lose that child-like faith, just like Peter did on the water. Taking our eyes off of Jesus, and losing our faith, worrying, is a big mistake. We look towards our giants, noticing how big they are. We become the army men who were too afraid to go after Goliath. We allowed someone else to step up and do it, because we didn’t have faith in God to protect us.
I know there’s certain cases where you do have to step back and let someone else step up, but imagine if you could step out in faith instead of hiding in your comfortable shadow. Do the calling God has for you to do. Your title is a Child Of God, nothing can come against you. As long as you are a Child Of God, satan can’t touch you. He can tempt you, but he can not touch you. All God wants is for you to step out of your comfortable shadow, and do what He has for you. Let God do the work, and you pick up what He gives you. Use your faith, you are a Child Of God.
