You ever see someone or something and automatically cringe? Because at some point or time God put it on your heart to speak to that person and you didn’t do it? Or like the G.O.A.T at Pursuit stated last night you didn’t just go and “DO IT.”
Last night was AMAZING!!! Because the G.O.A.T (Young Adults Pastor) said to us that we needed to stop studying our Bibles and started living it out.
He also went on to say, that we need to take what the Bible says at face value, instead of making into something complicated. We need to stop treating it like a checklist of good deeds. And start, living it out. Because we love God and want to be world chargers for Him. (Now that’s not word for word what he said. But that’s basically it. IT WAS SOO GOOD!!)
You see, Jesus came down to show us how to live it out. Not just telling us what God says, but showing us what He says and wants from us. The Bible says “If you love Me, you’ll obey Me.” You want to love God back? Obey Him. You want to change the world? Okay this may be tricky with the world we live in now… but… you have to… “DO IT.”
I’ll give you an example: You see someone who is hurting very badly. And you contemplate on whether you should pray for them or not. In the end, you decide not to, because you didn’t feel “lead to”.
Okay Ladies and Gentlemen, as Paul said in the Bible (and I say this with all the love your sister in Christ can have just like Paul did):
“So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. You don’t need further instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And so, God willing, we will move forward to further understanding. For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened—those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come— and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame. When the ground soaks up the falling rain and bears a good crop for the farmer, it has God’s blessing. But if a field bears thorns and thistles, it is useless. The farmer will soon condemn that field and burn it. Dear friends, even though we are talking this way, we really don’t believe it applies to you. We are confident that you are meant for better things, things that come with salvation. For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do. Our great desire is that you will keep on loving others as long as life lasts, in order to make certain that what you hope for will come true. Then you will not become spiritually dull and indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and endurance.”
Hebrews 6:1-12 NLT
Can we stop praying “God should I do this?” When we know good and well that we need to just go up and say “Hey, can I pray for you? I see you’re hurting and I want to pray for you.” I mean I am so sick (including myself in this) of seeing people being afraid to just say “Jesus loves you” or just go up and pray for someone, just because we don’t want to “offend people”. Honey, you’re gonna offend them anyways, why not just do it in a way that will make Jesus smile!
Now I’m not saying, to go preaching to people like crazy and shoving it down their throat. Still be loving and kind. But step up and BE THE CHANGE. Speak to people. Tell them they are loved. Just do it.
You have everything you need inside of you to just “do it.” Our time is now!!! Your time is now!!! Jesus is calling you, will you answer? Or just send the call to voicemail?
“Some of you have found the treasure. But you’ve had a yard sale and sold everything for second best.” —Nick Fields (the best worship leader AROUND)
Will you hang onto your treasure, step out and just “DO IT”? Or will you stay silent and not answer wen Jesus calls? Cause sometimes His Calls are really just when you see someone hurting and needs to know Jesus loves them.
